David’s transition into leadership coaching was built on the belief that many organizational challenges are not simply operational or strategic—they are deeply human. His work focuses on helping leaders better understand the signals they send into the systems around them and how their presence, clarity, empathy, and consistency shape trust, alignment, and execution across teams. His approach integrates neuroscience, systems thinking, herd dynamics, and experiential learning to create leadership development experiences that are both practical and transformational.
Prior to launching Open Range Leadership, David spent decades in the asset management industry working in high-performance, high-accountability environments.Throughout his career, he led teams, managed complex business initiatives, navigated organizational change, and operated in environments where trust, decision-making, emotional regulation, and communication directly impacted outcomes. Those experiences gave him deep insight into the realities leaders face under pressure and the unseen dynamics that influence team performance and organizational culture.
